The February 2010 Blizzard!

Feb 10, 2010 15:04

So, we got swamped with 19 inches (~48 cm) of snow last Friday/Saturday and I took a ton of pictures. This blizzard STOPPED bus service for the weekend and closed down the city for this week so far. Now we're getting more. It looks to me like we have over 6 new inches of snow already. Teddy's working from home today cause of this second blast. Here are some pictures I took on Saturday (the first blizzard):

This is what 19 inches of snow looks like:

Me with Aiden. It was really fun watching him run around in the snow. He stayed out with us for the whole ~2 hours we shoveled the walk (we live on a corner). Because he couldn't really get anywhere, we didn't have to worry about him running in the street. He amused himself with a plastic snow shovel.

Me standing behind a snow bank on Lincoln Avenue (I'm in the street, Teddy stood on the sidewalk to take this):

Another pretty pine tree:

Me and Teddy near his house. Check out the snow covered street behind us:

I took these following two pictures yesterday. This is the monastery near the hospital:

This is the untouched path leading through the woods and down to the river near the hospital and monastery:

That's it for now. I also have a ton of pictures of Pittsburgh parking chairs and other parking spot savers that I'll go through later.
