Bleh
Yesterday I was at the hospital getting blood work done from 6:30 am to 12:30 pm. Seriously. They drew like 9 tubes around 7 and I got really hot, broke out into a sweat and almost puked. Even worse, I had to fast since 8:30 the night before AND I was doing a glucose tolerance test and so I had to continue to not eat through the test. So, I had to go back at 8:30, 9:30, 10:30, 11:30 and 12:30 for more blood draws. That's 14 tubes total. I look like a heroin addict with all my needle sticks (the doctor wrote "No IV" in the instructions, so I got restuck EACH TIME.) It definitely reminded me why I don't give blood anymore after the first time.
I also have to redo this annoying 24 hour urine test because apparently, you aren't supposed to eat bananas, tomatoes, walnuts, avocados, other nuts, caffeine or alcohol for THREE DAYS PRIOR TO AND DURING the test. It would have been nice if the doctor told me that because I eat most of those foods every day.
In a about a week I'm going to San Francisco!! <3
