Being sick and what I learned about a head injury.

I've been sick. I woke up Saturday feeling horrible. Since it happened to be Brad's day off, I left him with Henry and went back to bed- then stayed there for three days. On Sunday + Monday my parents took Henry while Brad worked.. I'm so lucky to have them close by. And, Brad was really sweet to me.

By the end of last night, I was still feeling fairly under the weather. But, just as I was ready to crash, Brad brought a screaming little Henry into the bedroom. The poor thing had bumped his head and it looked BAD. It was sort of bleeding and swollen and it scared the shit out of us. I danced around the house cradling Henry while Brad called the pediatrician on-call; they said that we should bring him to the e.r.

As soon as we had Henry buckled into the carseat, he fell asleep. I had heard in my millions of first-aid classes that in such a situation, the victim should not be allowed to sleep. So, we spent the ride to the hospital windows-down, music blasting, and me poking Henry- "Wake up, baby, wake up."

Not long after we got to the e.r. did we learn that Henry was just fine. Oh, and that thing about not letting him sleep was just an old wives' tale. Too bad, cause he was wide awake at that point. But, my aunt, who's an e.r. nurse, scooped him up and proceeded to show him off to all her friends.

We got home and I realized that I was beginning to feel a little better. I think it was the adrenaline rush I got when I was scared about Henry's head. I took some nyquil and woke up today feeling okay. I'm trying to shuffle through loads of things that I should have been doing.. but, I'd really just rather go back to bed. Ehh. ♥

*Oh! If you wanna come to Serv-a-thon, registration ends Thursday night @ 8pm. Please register! Thanks.*
