Well, I saw the third PTOC movie yesterday. Twas goot, goot I tell ye!
Flame's all 18 now, yaaaay, and she's still got great taste in movies, and a propencity for mischief, so being all adultish is not so dooming after all.
We went to the falls to catch the movie, and I, of course, was late. STS, go figure. So I got there at a quarter to twelve instead of the previously agreed upon 11:00. But twas ok, I was not the latest, Jillian and Valeria came even later than that.
There were nine of us in all, Yohana, Ronni, Flame and me, duh, Amanda, Ryan, Kevin, and Valeria, and Jillian. Welll, ten if you count Jillian's two foot friend, Lesal, her japanese ball-jointed doll which cost upwards of 600 bucks! We finally got to see him, wooooo, since we'd heard Jillian ramble on and on about the dolls she's starting a collection, and he's awesome, but I'd never sell all my manga and other valuable posessions, learn to sew, and give up honeybuns for, but ah to each her own.
Anyway, Kevin humiliated us all at DDR, he really rocks! Even Yohana and Ronni, who are videogame shamans were thoroughly beaten to a lifeless pulp of undancerness.
Well, we rushed into the movies loaded down with junkfood and drink, and proceeded to be unruely children hehehe. The previews were just dying to be commented on, and well. Right after the previews, the movie actually froze for all of two minutes. We said that it was Jillian's doing, the movie was waiting for her to get there. Then Amanda runs up and touches the screen, and it miraculously starts running again. Someone must have complained about us, though, because one of those guys, whatever they're called ushered us out and told us we'd have to be quiet or else he'd be forced to kick us out. Evil! And Amanda very maturely stuck her tongue out at him and we trudged back to our seats and the wonderful Jack Sparrow, Will Turner, and the monkey!
I won't say too much about the movie since I know some people want to see it and haven't, but... It's pretty visual, and Ryan did a spectacular job of describing it. It wasn't rib-crackingly funny, but it had it's moments, and, it just rocked!
Sniff, sniff, "My peanut," is brilliant, so is the monkey, and according to Jillian, Calipso was the inspiration for the statue of liberty: Big tall woman with funky hair. Well, I'm glad she's got it all figured out....
The scene at the end of the credits was a disappointment to yaoi fans everywhere, but, well, it's disney, what can you say?
Oh, jack's mom, well, I can just picture coming home to her and baking cookies in the afternoon! And, if I get married, I want my wedding to be like the one in the movie. Really, really fun! hehe.
Anyway, after the movie, we talked about powers of the superdryer, and traipsed around hot topic and the disney store with bad english accents. Good stuff. We took pictures, and... that was about it.
Then I went home, had an interesting conversation with Ather about books, pandas, and orios, and talked to my wonderful one again which was, yayyy. Only three more days and...
Today will consist of shopping, hopefully, and has already included breakfast, londry, playing hostess to a bunch of my parents' friends while they were out, and eep, getting a beatle in my hair. But my shrill screaching was only a war cry to terrify said beatle and not because I was scared and grossed out, ok?
I'm almost done here, but I thought, because I'm mad, I'd share two poems. Both of which I found last night burried in the depths of my hard drive. One I wrote, and one I didn't, but they're.... anyway.... *Holds breath and takes the plunge.
------
Dear world,
Cruel world from which I'm born,
Tender world which gave me faith,
With you, I must pick a bone,
But also thank you for every joyful day.
With pleasure, then pain, I was brought to life,
And from then forward I traversed
These roads of peril and strife,
One moment good, then bad, then worse.
Love and trust you showed to me,
As a child I surrendered to your care
And then you showed me cruelty,
Such agonizing despair.
Love I gained and lost,
Healed the pain and quick forgot,
Found myself once more,
Turned around and found an open door,
Ran through it into the light,
Only to find my sun setting into night.
But then, world, you showed me another truth,
In the darkness there is beauty still.
Our pain and heartache is the proof
That yet of life we may drink our fill.
Life, richest of all treasure,
Sweeter than air, more precious than gold,
A price beyond measure.
But then when we grow old,
World, you show us the worst truth of all
Though your dragons we overcame
You have one more in store
And then the slayers become the slain,
For death comes knocking at our door.

He calls to me across the miles
Night winds carry his whispers
They float on the breeze and through my windows
Falling gently upon my ears
- Hush -
I hear him now.
He calls to me from the heavens
Glittering stars cannot compare to the sparkle of his eyes
When he looks at me, I am consumed by the fire
I see him now.
He calls to me through my dreams
Dancing together in the shadows of my sleep
Where we laugh and love once again
I am in his arms
I feel him now.
He calls to me
Every moment of every day
Distance couldn't keep us apart
When destiny drew us together
I'll hold him for eternity
As long as he keeps calling.
