yesterday was the chinese new year. and, by chance, the day sarah and i decided to pick up some chinese food. the folks at john's super buffet (i believe; formerly bamboo garden) were awesome and gave us extra food. extra crab rangoons, sweet biscuits, fortune cookies, and a bonus container of chicken wings and what i believe to be pork skewers. veggie lo mein, seafood surprise (scallops, baby), and chicken and broccoli comprised the rest of the meal. they gave us quite a bit of food. we're going to have to throw a large portion of it out, considering the very short fridge life of take-out chinese. but either way, it was good to eat a meal i didn't have to make.

i hadn't made any food until about an hour ago when i prepared a hamburger made from Laura's Lean brand ground round. i usually stir some spices like garlic, basil and ginger into the meat with a little bit of italian dressing. fry a few thin patties with onion slices and you've got yourself a sandwich.

anyway, tomorrow i get to hang out with my dad and get some more of the license situation straightened out. we've gone to nader's and purchased bond insurance, paid my reinstatement fee, fixed my car, sent proof of insurance to the bmv, and put the title in my name. now, i think i need to pick up a permit package, wait a week, schedule and take the test and i'll be highway bound.

then, i'll be able to get shit together. carrying my amp/guitar to jam with...whoever. driving my stupid ass to work to pay for gas/school. getting my ass to school to get a better job to pay for more stuff. going for a drive alone when i need to clear my head. picking up and get the fuck out of zanesville at the drop of a hat. getting to run all my errands without asking someone to take me. all this stuff that most people my age take for granted. all for something that happened 5 years ago. the way i see it, the slate should've been wiped clean when i turned 18. but oh well. that's how the state works. anybody who's ever had to deal with any administrative office handled by a state department knows that the state government just isn't very efficient. from the licensing bureau to unemployment, welfare, worker's comp--you name it. it's all a pain in the ass.

oh well. the headache that was kicking my ass about an hour ago is now gone and my valerian root is kicking in, so goodbye. if i feel compelled, i'll be back.
