Talk about something you inherited.
You see, it's kind of like this, every generation an Avatar is born. The reincarnation of the one before you. It just sort of comes in a circle. First Water, than Earth, then Fire and finally Air. Of course, next time, they'll be saying finally Water... but hey... that's neither here nor there. Thing is... I was born when Avatar Roku died. Avatar Ruku was from the Fire Nation. We've never met on this earth, but on the spirit plain we've talked. The time that I broke into the Fire Temple on Kyoshi Island.
I inherited his spirit... all the spirits... of all the pervious Avatars. It's not something I wanted... it's not a power that I asked for. But I will do what I can to learn how to be the best Avatar there is so that I can protect the world from those who want to destroy it. I may not be able to change what happened in the past 100 years that I was missing, but I will fix it for the future. So that all may live in peace again. That is what my predecessors would have wanted.
Because if I fail, so will the world.
