So this whole online crafting community is brand-new to me, and I just finished my first swap. Wowwwwwwww. The theme for this swap from Yahoo Harry Potter Crafts was wizarding families, and my partner was Ann Burt. The above masterpiece arrived in the mail yesterday.
I'm still flabbergasted at the beauty and mastery of this work. There are more photos at the link above.
It is so rewarding to know that there are so many people out there who value the pricelessness of handmade artwork.
Plus, the first peonies of the season arrived at the grocer's yesterday. Someday, God-willing, I'll grow my own, but for now, I'll have to revel in the cut versions:
They're my absolute favourite flowers in the the whole wide world. When they're in your face like this it's easy to see why. Folks used to think fairies hid inside their many petals. I just wish I could post their scent on LJ!
