What we're up to.....
Our little one has been sick quite a bit over the winter (2 ear infections, chicken pox, strep throat, and stomach flu), and our older daughter Sumayya has been very tolerant of all the attention we've had to focus on Amani. Being a homeschooled kiddo, she's very good at entertaining herself.
Here, she's made ink out of strawberries (we heated some past-their-prime strawberries in the microwave with some water then strained the sludge through a mesh strainer). She had found a feather outside and had been begging me to use it as a quill. Being the budding fiber artist that she is, she knew ink and dyes originated from plant sources and was able to prove it to herself. Which is a good thing, because that's the only way she'll believe anything anyway.
