""We were just wondering how you're all built and stuff when to only lift, like, fifteen pounds?""
This was said to me by a trainer who, apparently, doesn't state things well. he then clarified what he meant -- that, apparently, if I'm not lifting extremely heavy and doing as well as I'm doing, then I could be a tank with the proper guidance.
And I admit, I've been using the same general routine since May (a two-day split of chest, tris, and legs, followed by back, shouldes, and biceps the next day), with heavy reps, followed by an ab day, followed by a heavy lifting routine, meaning I'm in five days a week. But I'm ready for a change -- SOME sort of change. I've contemplated trying to go heavier in general, and if so, where do I go?
A gentleman I've known on Facebook showed me his routine, which is only three days a week, and is broken into squat, push, and pull, and it seems viable enough. Then there's the aforementioned trainer at the gym, who said, "Look, you want heavy, I can give it to you."
I made a mistake of joining guys who I talk to at the gym, who are ... a bit too much for me. They introduced me with shrugs ... at 340 pounds. Erm, no. As much as I want heavy, I can't just JUMP into it unless I want injuries by the assload.
I'll figure it out eventually. Until then, I'll keep on doing what I'm doing.
