[Multilingual Monday Music] The Comb
Click to viewI've always adored the Israeli singer Rita, and little did I know that we both had Iranian roots, until "Shane", or "The Comb" came out. This song is intriguing to me not just because it's an Israeli cover of an Iranian song (which is in itself surprising; let's see the reverse now!), but also because it's a cover of an older Iranian song. Apparently the record that this song was featured on was one of the few possessions Rita's family came into Israel with, and doing the cover is an homage to her family.
