[Multilingual Monday Music] Eurovision Season's Open!
Click to viewOkay, technically, it started in December, but so far there have been three turkeys picked by Switzerland, Romania, and Albania. And then, out of nowhere, Austria says it's making a return (after insisting it could never win and leaving in a huff), and coming back with an interesting selection. They haven't picked yet, but I'm quite fond of this little song, Luttenberger-Klug's "Sternenlichter", or "Starlights". It has a very catchy hook, and I'm quite fond that one of the best tunes is in a local language and not English.
Austrian entries have never done much for me. To find one that I actually liked quite a bit -- well, let's just say you have go go back a bit ...
