Damn it was good to get up to Chicago again, even if it was for the Day of Atonement. The fast was okay, though by 2PM I thought: I could REALLY go for a sammich. But by the time it got to 5PM, I didn't care anymore. "M'eh, I've gone this long." What killed me more than the fast, was the long long loooooooooong periods of standing during the Mincha towards the end made me feel very weary and very OLD.
One of the kids ate so much after the fast was broken that he threw up. In his hands. And ran out of the tample with it.
I was told by about 10 people that I need to come up to Chicago more often.
The cantor was sick and a few times had to stop and hack before coming back. "COUGHWHEEZEHAAACK COOOUGHHAAACK ... alright, so let's sing the Avinu Malkeinu!" :: laugh ::
So guess who left his boots at Reuven's house? Mmm hmm. -_-
I couldn't get a bus back until 10:30, and didn't get home until nearly 2AM. So, I dragged ass today at work. -_-
Shana tova! I hope everyone who partook in Yom Kippur had an easy fast.
