[Sunday Sketch] Chris' Self-Portrait Thingy

So, yeah, dedos decided to call for the people of LJ to do a self-portrait, and the above is my response. The criteria I set:

No more than an hour. (I fucked up part of this badly and gave myself another fifteen minutes ... yay fudging your own self-imposed time limit! -_-)

NO tracing or graphing.(At least this one I followed through on!)

Since the scanner doesn't work (it's still in the closet -- yeah, insert "in the closet" joke here), use Painter or ComicWorks. (I chose Painter this time, sticking to the soft charcoal pencil "brush")

Working from a photo is fine -- again, so long as the second condition is met (hence a photo source of me from last December).

I find it especially hard to draw myself. The only time I could do it was for an anniversary present I did for nytemarewulf, back at our first anniversary, and any other time -- I guess it's just hard for me to see myself as simply a drawing SUBJECT,and I'm not terribly sure why that is. I don't mind how this came out, but quite a bit of the linework is WAY too heavy, and I think I skewed the angles a wee. As much as I'd like to tear this one apart (and I do -_-), I just have to tell myself that it's a helluva lot better than this one I did about a year ago.
