DVD Player Woes
So, my dad decided that he'd get me a region-free DVD player for our new apartment (since I have all the stuff from Asia and Europe n' all). Sounds nice enough, doesn't it? We saw one listed -- a Phillips "Region Code Free" DVD player online -- nice price too! -- and he ordered it. It finally came, and I opened it up, plugged it in ...
... and it won't read any of my Region 2 movies, at all. What the fuck?!
I flip through the manual, and it says there in three languages that it's Region 1 only -- and the big "1" sticker on the back of the player (as well as the repeated "WRONG REGION" message) ascertain this. Fucking DAMN IT! How is this region code free????
