Different things.
There was a problem with the intake hose for our motorhome leaking at the socket; till I could do something about that, I operated out of the fresh water tank instead of ‘city water’. Finally I took the time to try and address the matter. As far as I could tell, the main cause was buildup of hard water crystals at the socket, so I made one try with hydrogen peroxide (didn’t work), then another with CLR (calcium/lime/rust remover, also didn’t work). Then I tried to remove the connection completely so I could directly soak and/or scrub the thing with CLR … but I couldn’t get that all the way out, so I tried to remove the hose attachment to get at the problem, only my fingers were wet and I couldn’t rotate the hose, so I used channel-lock pliers to turn the attachment washer, only I forgot that the outward-facing washer needed to turn clockwise to loosen, meaning I cranked it even tighter instead -
And that took care of it, solved the leak issue. Nothing I tried worked, until the whole matter was resolved by a silly screw-up. Fun, fun, fun.
Susan was sick for days, starting almost as soon as we arrived at our current location; this afternoon was the first time she stepped outside our rig for the since we got here. Nothing major, just cruised around seeing things and had a steak dinner. As I’ve said before, our daily lives are thoroughly humdrum; we’d be bored out of our minds if we didn’t periodically drive our ‘home’ to some new location.
Along those lines, we start off for Nevada tomorrow, because 1) our son in China just started with a new company, and 2) they’re sending him to a conference in Las Vegas this week. Despite frequent video calls, we haven’t seen him directly since summer of 2023. It’ll just be him - no granddaughter, sorry - but we’re still really looking forward to getting together with him again.
Like sands through the hourglass, these are the days of our lives.
