Susan and I are making preparations to move out as soon as the election is over. (I also have one last medical appointment the first week in November.) ( More stuff under the cut. )
We did 3 years in Florida for the winters and 1 year in New Mexico. Hubby and I met and married in Tucson, and we love the desert southwest. Had we still wanted the snowbird life, we probably would have chosen Arizona. I concur with your classes of people in the RV life. It's definitely not for everyone, like you said. Now that we have the smaller rig, and hubby's knee replacement is out of the way, we hope to do a lot more travelling in ours next year. There is so much country left to see!
And we’d like to see a bit more of it, yes. We started late enough in our lives that we won’t cover anywhere near as much ground as folks who can devote more years to it, so the idea is to do what we can before we switch over to overseas retirement. (I’m pressing things already, Susan really wants to spend more time with our granddaughter in China.)
Since you follow my LJ, if you’re ever heading to an area where we are or plan to be, drop me a note and we can decide whether meeting might be fun.
