You're In The Big League Chew!

Oh r/Xennials you truly do ease the pain. So this was up on r/Xennials tonight:

If you can't see the image, it's an ad for the bubble gum, Big League Chew. Damn, I hadn't seen or heard from Big League Chew in a bit. I'm fairly certain it's still around, I think I've seen it, but I haven't brought any since I was like 8 or 9 years old. It was good bubble gum but you had to be careful with it.

See Big League Chew came... I guess the right word is shredded. Not in a stick or cube or a tape roll (like Bubble Tape), it came in shredded strips. I think it was invented solely to combat children wanting to chew chewing tobacco?! I think there was an epidemic of kids getting hooked on chewing tobacco and ultimately ending up with some form of mouth cancer.

But the thing is in the commercials for it, the baseball team guys would grab a bunch of sprigs and start chewing. That was fine for the adult men in the commercial, but not the small elementary school kids that this gum was targeting. If you took more than 6 sprigs your mouth was mostly be fused shut from having too much gum in it! And because of the advertisement and seeing the guys taking huge wads of gum, it's definitely what I did.

I wonder if I got some Big League Chew, would still have this problem now? Eh, I'm good honestly.

reddit adventures, what?!
