I saw this on Reddit just now and it not only made me smile but reminded me of how delicious cake is (not that I needed a reminder but you know what I mean):
Since I'm making this public and images don't come up on public posts I'll give you the abbreviated version of what it says. Basically, the OP said they were going to end their life and they wanted to eat a whole cake before they completed the grizzly task, but they weren't in the mood to eat the whole thing. So the put it away and said they would finish the cake and their life the next day. Well the next day they ate just one slice and so on until the cake was gone and they no longer felt suicidal.
Yes, I wholeheartedly agree, cake, especially a delicious moist cake with velvety smooth icing... Oh, yes, that does make life worth living! Damn I wish I had some cake right now even though I'm far too old to eat cake for breakfast (My stomach would curse me out in seven different languages if I pulled that!).
But the moral of this story is cake saves the day once again and continues to prove that pie sucks! Cake is the bringer of joy while pie is the bringer of sadness and carnage. Pie can suck it!
And for that person who was in such a dark place, I'm so happy they chose not to give into the darkness. While it may seem silly to live only for cake, it's sometimes a small, seemingly insignificant thing like eating cake that can give someone something to live for.
