Rachel beat me to the punch by posting her pics from the Mermaid Parade, but I figured I'd do my own little rundown, too! It was SO much fun! I'm just completely amazed by what people do with their creativity. I mean, even my dinky little costume took several hours, so some of those more ornates ones must have taken months. Very cool.

I went to the pride parade in San Francisco this weekend, which looks like it was similar to the mermaid parade in many aspects. There were LOTS of naked people. One old dude was completely bare-ass naked in the middle of the intersection, and he was surrounded by throngs of people getting their picture taken with him and his weenie. Not 20 feet away were 5 cops, just sort of standing there, smiling, occasionally laughing at the spectacle. I didn't know it was legal in SF to be flaunting your ding dong all over the place, but hey! I guess that's the san francisco pride parade for you.

-lots of boobies
-lots of drag queens (a few good ones and about 490334094358 REALLY bad ones)
-lots of people on drugs
-leather daddies like you wouldn't believe
-dykes on bikes
-a dude in a furry bear costume
-a dude in a gold unitard
-and I'm pretty sure I saw Debbie Harry from Blondie. But that also could have been a really good drag queen. I'm still not sure.

Yea, I'm with you Stace...I was previously under the impression that public nudity was illegal, or at least frowned upon. I am happy to find that, at least in some parts of the country, this is just completely untrue. Boobies and penises 4eva!!!
