NOTHING CAN CONTAIN MY JOY.

Today. Something wonderful happened.

inane_notions drew me a picture of Palin as Cruella de Vil.

CLICK. AND SEND HER LOVE. SPREAD THE NEWS. THIS PICTURE SHOULD BE PIMPED FOREVER. IT SHOULD GO IN A NEWSPAPER!11

In less joyful news, I watched the fifth season premiere of House.

5x01 Dying Changes Everything
  • First off? Robert Sean Leonard deserves props. I never watched the Wilson/Amber episodes and yet his pain for her still made me tear up. When he was telling Cuddy that no one even LIKED Amber, I actually did cry. This is even more amazing because I normally don't care about his character at all.
  • Which brings me to point two. I loved Wilson since the first time in two seasons. I realized that every single time Wilson interacts with someone else other than House, I like him more. I find Wilson a more engaging, interesting, likeable and watchable character away from House. And I'm upset that I know this breakup isn't going to last.
  • SPEAKING OF LOVE. MY DUCKLINGS. Cameron kicked ass. I love how she told House to go to hell when House was trying to get her to ask Wilson to stay. I love that she loved her husband and it still hurts. I love that she said that Wilson should leave but he shouldn't fool himself into thinking he's doing the right thing. This episode brought out my long dead interest in Wilson/Cameron. And I'd love for them to bond more.

FOREMAN. OMG FOREMAN. MY FOREMAN. I loved that he told Wilson that he should leave even if it makes his life a little bit easier. I love this man.

And Chase. You owned your three seconds of screen time. I MISS YOU BB. I love how much of a backbone he has and that he's honest enough to admit that he would have done that dangerous surgery if it was House asking him.
  • I... I actually liked Thirteen here. She didn't have much a personality back when I watched the show. I was utterly delighted that they're giving her a character. I'm also warming up to the actress, even if it's not on purpose, that Thirteen is very still and doesn't move or express herself a lot does give her an air of isolation and mystery. I love that she tells people to back off about hers personal life and I love how much she just wants her short life to have meaning. She's not Cameron 2.0. anymore because Cameron's need to fix people is very different than Thirteen's need to make her life have meaning for the short time she has left.
  • Other ducklings: BLAH.
  • House: HOW WAS HE MY FAVORITE. I recently rewatched Role Model and watching this was so utterly painful. HL is an impressive actor, but the show has pretty much taken away everything that make the character interesting and relatable. And his character actually developed.
  • Cuddy: whatever. Lisa Edelstien should get a new job, she's way too good for this character.
  • House/Cameron: They touched. I will sadly be happy about this fact for months.
  • NOW FOR THE MEET OF THE EPISODE. Which made me loathe it as much as I loved it (SEE: CAMERON, MY GIRL, BEING AWESOME. AND HOUSE GRABBING HER ARM. GOD I HATE BEING A SHIPPER).
POTW was about to find her own meaning. She was going to fly on her own. She wasn't going to settle for being a flunkie. Even if it was hard, she knew it would have been worth. And then House saves her life and she tells Thirteen she's going back to being a flunkie and being a flunkie gives her meaning because she helps.

I will bet you anything. Anything. That Wilson will go back to House. And it won't be on his own terms. It will be on House's terms. And Wilson will go back to enabling him. And not taking care of himself. Tell himelf some crap like Amber would want him to keep his friendship with House, because his friendship means something to me. And thus, House Is Right Again. Even though he's wrong. And Wilson should take care of himself and stop enabling House. Grow past his need to be needed. Use his relationship with Amber to actually grow as a character.

The show won't go there. And it's not even going to attempt to sell me on its themes about that lack luster idea of meaning and embrace misery again because um the world sucks so we should all be miserable. Everybody lies blah blah blah. Hint: having House Be Right About Everything While Being An Abusive Asshole isn't going to do this.
  • In conclusion, I want Foreman, Cameron, Chase and Wilson to leave and go on their own show. It would be A++ awesome. And that old fraud guy who sparkled so much as a character when House was picking new staff members.
  • Oh and the whole crappy feminist thing? It's not even worth ranting about. That's how dumb and pointless and thoughtless it all was.

Oh edit! Have a Buffy quote cos the meme is going around:

Giles: (leans back) Yes. (gets up) I imagine he does. (goes to her) But when James possesses people, they act out exactly what happened that night. So he's experiencing a form of purgatory instead. I mean, he's, he's doomed to, to kill his Ms. Newman over and over and over again, and... forgiveness is impossible.
Buffy: Good. He doesn't deserve it.
Giles: To forgive is an act of compassion, Buffy. It's, it's not done because people deserve it. It's done because they need it.
-I Only Have Eyes For You (ONE OF MY FAVORITE TV EPISODES EVER.)

AND ONE FROM ANGEL COS ANGEL NEEDS LOVE TOO!
ANGEL: I really do love you, Connor.
CONNOR: So what are you going to do about it?
ANGEL: Prove it.
The knife descends.
-Home. *SOBS*
