Nebraska does one thing really really well that I have yet to see in any other state I have lived in.
Fireworks.
They start selling them here a week and a half before the Fouth of July itself. Denezins of the highly populated areas of Nebraska (We'll summerize it to Omaha for ease) live on blowing thousands and thousands of dollars, per person, on fireworks. Not the little snappy things or smocke bombs, the big frickin' things that go way up in the air and can be seen from a mile away.
So they buy a lot of fireworks, so what?
It's a constant flow. People launch the fireworks the night they buy them, then go get some more the next day. Just driving around at night is one of the most awesome sights ever. It's a giant display of fireworks every night for a week!
When I move away to wherever my job takes me, I'm still going to come back here for the Fourth of July just to watch this. It's very unique to this area, and even our parents haven't seen anything like it in any states -they- lived in.
Yay fireworks.
