We used to shorten 'Countryside Alliance' to the first syllable in conversation...

I'm all for keeping fox numbers down. I just don't understand why anyone born in the last eighty years would think a traditional hunt is in any way better than just shooting or poisoning them. Can't they get their jollies some other way? Base jumping or something?

I'm really disappointed in the Countryside Alliance, as they started out as fairly non-political advocates for a range of countryside issues. But then they became synonomous with foxhunting.

My late neighbour (who was in her nineties when she died about ten years ago) was very much against hunting - so I reckon you could extend your 'eighty years' even further back.

Base jumping would be good. Parachutes optional. They could even dress up in that strange hunting getup.
