I don't have Facebook...

…but if you do - you may care to check out this apparent breach of security - if you download Facebook applications, third parties may be able to see your private information

What's most surprising is that it's taken the Beeb or someone this long to start publicly talking about it, I suppose? I haven't logged in for ages again, and early on spent a while with their damn settings not having turned my profile to Friends only like I'd thought it was, and then spending time with application settings as they were, but I don't recall posting anything of such a private nature there, anyway. My address is no Facebook person's business, though of course it gives them the email address to further spam, like they already do, anyway.

As in, I think I modified my stuff to mostly be unavailable to any application 1,5 months in there, SLT, and yes, was swearing rancidly and in a highly paranoid fashion about having to change the settings by hand for everything there like that, the difficulty with everything on Facebook. Found it rather disgusting already then, and that's me, the paranoid person, without anything vital or ultimately useful there. Just paranoid enough about even what is there. That and I never said yes to any application that demanded that you spam 3-10 other friends with the application itself to get to see your results or what gift or flower you got or anything. I know several people who do. *basks in the goodness of being vaguely suspicious of everything*

I didn't realise it was so complicated. Suspicion is good, I think - sounds like you have it covered.
