I wish I were like Bridget; direct, tall and gorgeous, long-haired and completely captivating. Easily seductive and reckless to the point where I had to be to make me feel whole. Passionately in-tune with the earth and my surroundings, but intaking them the way I wanted to. Even down to the obsession and intensity for soccer I always wish I had. I ( Read more... )

Yeah - I started reading the book last summer and just could never get past like the first forty pages, even though I knew it was a really good book, the idea and all the comments I'd heard about it and everything. I do love the movie, too, and it's really weird seeing the major differences between them. I realllly do like it though.

I think when I first started reading it and watched the movie, I wanted to be Lena, but...I don't know. I can't explain what is happening within my right now that wants to be very, very far from the Lena already within me. But perhaps I could borrow the rest from you sometime =). I was very sad to think that I'll probably finish this one today, but then I remembered there are others and I'll just have to get my hands on them. So if I could borrow, that would be absolutely stupendous.

i have not read the book, but i saw the movie with my friends and we all cried, because there were 4 of them and four of us. and the blue-haired girl named tibby, i believe? my friend beth, whose nickname is tibby, she had blue hair about a month before we saw it! haha it was so bizarre. is bridget the one whose mom died?

Yes, it is. That's really neat - it holds something special like that for me, too, because it's the same with me, four friends. I guess we are like them because we all have different body types and different personality traits like them - we're just slightly different traits than them. Hahah I had to make sure I posted a subject so you wouldn't think I meant you =). Even though it wouldn't be such a bad thing hahaha.

I feel like it was meant to. It was meant to give people hope and a connection, in case they have nothing else. It's given me a connection, even if it's not a good one. I'm not reading the second one, I finished the first today, and I feel just like Bee. Something within me just feels broken and no matter what I say to myself or what I try to do to fix it, I can't figure it out. I can't hide from myself like I want to.
