Slayer Concert

Ah, the nostalgia of a metal concert. I have so missed the atmosphere of it all.

I dressed up properly for it, the uniform for this sort of thing being BLACK.

But as they say, you don't have to wear BLACK outside, it's the BLACK inside that counts.

That's what I told my friend, who didn't get to change out of his work clothes.

Anyway, so as the sea of black-clad metal fans went in, I could almost taste the iron-smell of anticipation.

Slayer was fantastic! Considering that they are all over 40-plus years each, they can still rock the house down. I LOOVE double-bass drumming! Power!

But....the crowd was slow to warm up, and there was no nosh-pit in my area, which disappointed my friend. There was not much head-banging going on as well, which surprised me. Maybe they have an older fan-group base, but why the heck was everyone taking photos instead of diving into the beat-beast?

Sound was not that great too, maybe we were standing too close to the bass amps to hear anything else. Many international fans came too, even Japanese, tho' Slayer's next stop is Japan. Hard core!

By the 4th song thereabouts, the drummer warmed up sufficiently such that everyone really started moving. Being a head-banger, I just went ahead and gave my neck and body a good work out! Talk about the best way to enjoy live metal!

Everyone was crushed by that the concert ended just when it got heated up, and they actually told the crowd that there were some songs that they weren't allowed to sing.

Given that they were limited by war and social-disorder songs, many were sad that their fav anti-christ songs were striked off the playlist. But this being Singapore.....

I really should start to get into the underground metal scene once more, I really missed it...
