are you still on antidepressants? those are mood stabilizers. I am on antidepressants as well, as I'm sure you know, and I still have many ups and downs even when I am on my meds.
Perhaps your problem is your drinking. Did you know alcohol is a drug, and actually a DEPRESSANT?- it brings your mood down, makes you feel sad, and more depressed. Thus, you take your antidepressants to balance the neurotransmitting chemicals in your brain & help with your depression, then you go drink alcohol, which reverses the effects of the antidepressants and then some. I don't know if you do this or not, but many people drink to relieve or "escape" their depression. What these people don't realize is their own self-medication of alcohol only contributes/worsens their depression. it's sad, really when that happens.
That's part of the reason why I don't drink. It's not worth it if it's going to screw up my body chemistry for not only the evening I drink, but for days afterward. keep that in mind when you want to drink... is it really

I don't really drink on a regular basis. I drink now and again, but not every day by any means. I only drink just to have fun with my friends. Never to escape or anything.
I already have made a commitment that i need to not drink. And if i do have it be on rare occasions. I have to do something because this is all getting out of control. I am not addicted so it's very easy for me to do this.
