Absolution

(Xander was invited. He's going to sit in the car until he feels compelled to get out. He can hear and see the conversation taking place. Jump in when you like man!)

It was steadily growing dark, with the last traces of sunlight glinting in the edges of the western side. They rolled onto hallowed ground and into the cematery, the Impala's tires crunching gravel as it traveled slowly through the lines of stones. It is out towards the edge of the woods a bit, nestled under the branches of a tree that Dean pulls the car to a stop and kills the engine.

"Hey Xander, We'll be back." Dean says and climbs out, but hands the other man the keys so he can listen to the radio or something while they are gone.

He waits on Sam, who is turning up the flowers they picked up on the way out. Decides to fish around in the trunk and comes up with a bottle of water (it's probably holy water. But they can make more at the motel later) and a few rags. He closes the trunk and joins Sam in the walk up to the redish stone sitting silently in the steadily growing twilight: Mary Winchester.
