quick update before i go to chem lab. the TAs are on strike. they got a mandate for it about a week ago, and last night they voted 80% in favor and officially declared themselves on strike. i keep getting announcements from the school saying things like this:

• Students cannot be excused from a class or exam because of a picket line outside the room.

it is kind of funny. but it was awkward walking onto campus the other day. it was like, the grad students shame thee undergrads for going to class.
actually, the lab was fine. it was overwhelmingly easy and quick, which, come to think of it, the coordinator may have arranged on purpose. in any case, it was my last one!

all of them! they cannot, by law, do any of the work specified for a TA. or they get fined or something. it's so weird. also, the professors aren't allowed to do any work or teach any classes specified for a TA, OR hire anyone else to do those things. basically, everything the TAs were responsible for collapses.
