I knew I was going to have to rebuild this...

It used to look like this...

Sunday I came home to this...

Awesome.  And it's cold and going to rain.  So Maybe I'll get to it in the next couple of weeks.  Just the repair.  I can't afford to replace all 16 sections at once.  Not right now that is.  So like Lyon's side of the yard, this will be done in several stages.  I already have one and a half sections done.  When I do these 3 sections, I will buy a few extra pickets to complete the Half done section.  I will then have 5 out 16 sections completed.  Roughly a Third.  OK lets price this repair out

That's without Tax!  So basically, a $200 Repair.  Money I was going to have to spend anyway on it... I just didn't want to so soon.  The posts were rotting.  Heck they are 16 years old.  I just really hate digging.  And I'm going to have to turn the Water on In the middle of winter to make the cement.  That's not going to bode well.  It's going to be a several day project/repair.  The posts will take a most of the day to dig out and let the cement dry.  The rails go quik - then the pickets... cutting them to fit properly is a booger.  I hate ripping boards.  And since I use screws instead of nails, things go a little slower than I like.  I think I can complete it over 3 days.  the only way to speed it up I think is to use the Nail gun to tack up the boards and then go back and secure with screws in a faster pace.  though I will have to draw a line where the rails are to put them in properly and in line.  How many screws... Around 300... that's a $30 box of screws!  Sheesh.

I have to replace about 10 more posts in the whole fence rehabbing project... That's $20 a post I'll have to come up with.  I was going to do that portion seperately but now I guess I'll do it as I go along.

To Replace a post, it's $20.  To replace a section it's $35.  So the cost to replace the fence on Psycho's side is:
$560  = (16 sections x  $35 )
$200  =  Posts and Cement
$90    =  Screws
$850 Total I would have to come up with to do it all at once.  Then subtract the Sections that are completed and the above repair and we are looking at $525 to complete that side of the fence.

Here is what I am planning to do to bring that cost down.

And I can wait till memorial day to get Pickets when they go on sale.  That would be a savings of around $60.  Also the quikrete goes on sale around the same time or I could just get the regular stuff for about half the price.  Sure it takes all day to dry... but that just means I go work on something else.  That's another $20.  That's around $80 I could save.  Also It's almost time for the 10% Lowes coupons to start showing up - that's worth probably around $45.  That brings the cost for those remaining 11 sections to around $400.  So there is some opportunity to save on this project. Not the repairs though... they are what they are.  I'll just have to keep my eyes open for a good deal.
