I have for years wanted a Deadbolt on this door. It's hard to believe it, but the door is actually white - the light bulb makes it look Beige. I have been to scared to put one in because It didn't already have a deadbolt hole in the door and I would have to drill it and the latch in the door jam. Well, I decided to go for it yesterday. Ok. I decided I'd do it a about a week prior because I purchased the lock on Amazon (saving $20 and tax). It came on Tuesday. Working from home on Wednesday gave me the opportunity to install it - though I didn't start till around 5:00pm. Not an easy task. And it really isn't a pretty site inside the jam... but it is up and working like a charm. I did have to buy an new door knob to replace the nasty old Brass one that was there... It all has to match - Right Rose? I still need to paint the door Green in the garage - white inside... but I wanted to at least do any damage first and then cover it up later. The damage was minimal. it's in the Door Jam. I put the latch too high - so I had to lower it... And I drilled to deep. But I think spray foam will fix that mess.
