Back story... When I put the wall in downstairs to create my office and a media room out of one very large and long room, I put a pocket door in so not to take up floor space with a door. Which in itself is a totally great thing. But there is one bad thing about it... 3 feet of unusable space on either side of the pocket. Well, I decided to build a lightweight wall that would hang off the header and cover about 15 square feet of wall above the desk, turning it from unusable to usable. Honestly I would have to put a 2.5" nail in this wall to hit the door inside the pocket. Here is all the steps in pictures.
I am pretty happy on how it turned out. It isn't perfect. But hey... That's ok.
