I only bring this up because 2 weeks from today, I will be uemployed. I will have a lot of time to fill with the many projects I said I would "Someday". Completing those things will not only make me smile, It will help me achieve another little goal of mine. - Less Stuff.
Usually when I dream up these hair-brained schemes projects, I'm so excited I go out and buy the materials. I have the best intentions of getting it done, but something gets in the way and of course all those materials end up stored in the garage waiting for me to finally get a round to completing the projects.
- I have had the cans of paint for this project for OHhhhhhh... 5 years. I have been storing these cans for 5 freakin' years. It's time to let it go.
- I also last year bought some ultra high heat black paint for the outdoor fireplace / pit. It's all rusty, crusty and ugly looking. Time to get that done too.
- I need to put the pedestal sink in. it's sitting in the garage taking up room. I bought it and I haven't done anything with it. I have been waiting for when I put in tile. Since I don't see that happening very soon... I just need to install it and enjoy the extra room in the bathroom.
- How about the wall bump out for the office. (to extend over the wall that hides the pocket door and be able to hang things on it. I have the dry wall, the 2x4's, wall paint and some miscellaneous trim. It's harder to store drywall... So getting it out of the garage would be nice.
- All the cache cans and assorted caching materials. I just need to get that stuff out of there as well. It isn't doing any good sitting on a shelf and I could use the diversion.
- Then there is all the assorted goodwill stuff that never made it to the drop-off. It's out there too.
- Make the stupid laundry soap already... you have all but one thing. Order it and be on with it. I'm sick of tripping over the detergent dispenser jugs.
- The tick farm that needs to be cleaned out.
- The firepit that needs to be completed. So...I can get rid of the bags of sand on the patio and so ...
- I can burn all that trash wood that is stacked behind the fence and also
- The Flag that needs to be burned.
- The extension to the service yard... I have parts of it I just need to suck it up, buy the remaining parts and build it. So then I can...
- Move the Volunteer Crrepe Myrtle (that has gotten huge under the front steps) to infront of the service yard to semi-hide it.
- Speaking of Steps, I need to paint the Front Step and the Shudders. I bought the paint a couple of years ago and Never got around
- to the shudders.
- Rewire the Trailer and clean it up. I have all the stuff for that project too.
- Set up the outdoor speakers - Yup I have those too as well as the wireless ones. "Stooooorrring".
I know it seems like I just come up with these things just for the fun of it. And that may be a little true. But most of the projects I come up with tend to be some form of recycling or reusing leftovers or found objects, or just finding great deals that are cost effective for an upgrade.
Right now I'm concentrating on Homer. I really would like to make him look better than he does now. Give him the attention he needs and do the maintenance that I have put off for way too long. And get rid of the old cans of paint. Once I've thinned out the paint storage area, I will be able to purchase the stuff I need to paint the Parts on the jeep that really need it ... Like the grill.
Way out there buddy... Way out there. Though while I'm off I'd like to visit the junk yard and see if I can find the parts I need for the jeep. But that's a whole nother story.
