One of the things happening to me now...
As mentioned in the previous post, I am expecting things to start happening to me NOW... and they are. You see, I have been dreading a phone call I had to make. A call about one of the many Medical bills I have received. I had been under the impression that I had reached my total out of pocket expenses for the year ($3500.00) and that I really shouldn't be charged anymore. Well, 2 weeks ago I received a notification from Blue Cross that I was going to be billed $1248.00 because the assistant surgeon was not part of my network.
Needless to say I nearly had a shit hemorrage.
But I came up with a plan and calmed down. I decided not to freak out till I actually received said bill. Then I would contest it, first with the Dr.s office and then with BCBS. I never authorized an out of network "Assistant Surgeon". And I didn't think I should be responsible for that. That was the plan. Wait, then bitch.
Well, the bill showed up on Saturday. And so monday morning was the day to deal with it.
I called the office and the very nice girl informed me that it was a mistake. Yes the Dr. bills for the Assistant, but since my insurance company didn't cover it they would write it off.
SWWWWEEEEEEET!!!!!!!
That makes me very happy.
I think they were seeing if I would pay it. I'm glad I called first. Wish I had done that in 2002 when I had that $750 dr.s bill that I paid with my Lawn mower money.
