Many different obstacles to over come. I made it over all but one. I started on the light switch upstairs. I decided the stainless steel just didn't look right so I stole a white one from the front door and put the stainless there.
Not really a smooth project, but it didn't take long. So I guess this one you can chalk up to easy.
The other lighting project... Not so much.
Here are the parts...
Should have been easy. It wasn't. I kept hooking it up and the red light would stay on all the time and the garage lights wouldn't go on. I switched the th terminals all around and finally figured out that I am missing the white wire - the neutral. I found it all wound up with a wire nut behind the other 2 switches . I couldn't turn their breakers off...then I wouldn't be able to see. So this is a project I will have to finish in the day time.. I was able to figure out out to get the lights on in the garage but no red light as shown by the last picture. half way done. Not how I like it. But it's on it's way. If I hadn't bought a 2 switch instead of the 3 switch plate, I may have not had to go to Home Depot. But Hey what is a project without trips to Home Depot to make up for my mistakes. At least it wasn't the hospital.
I will defeat you light switch and things will work the way I want them too! Positive thinking... that's the key. OK maybe a good electrician.
