I have hit the -10 Pound Mark...

Since giving up carbs I have noticed a few things. Things that may not be important to the average person, but to me it’s Huge.
The first thing I have noticed is… the room in my jeans. Not like they are falling off or anything like that, but I definite feel some room. I can bend over and not cut the circulation off or pinch my belly. I can put my hand in my pocket and get change out. And my car key isn’t stabbing me in the thigh.
The second thing is I can put my leg on my knee to put on my shoe. Now that could be that my jeans aren’t as tight, but I choose to believe otherwise.
My energy level was soaring for a few days in the beginning, but it sort of took a nose dive, the hotter it got and the less money I figured I had. That would be a mental drain on the energy not physical. I am working my way through it right now so we’ll see.
I’m eating better and less frequently. I was grazing ALL THE TIME before the decarbing. Raiding the candy machine at 10:00am and 3:00pm, snacking all the way though the evening… I find now not so much. I am eating more planned out meals that carry me through the days with a couple of small snacks in between. When I say better, no candy, cake, cookies, potatoes, bread, processed foods… I’m doing nearly all the preparing so I know what’s in the meal. So by doing this, my grocery bill is going down.  I know I am making fewer trips there, which definitely is a positive side effect. Also, since I am not snacking so much, neither are the dogs. They have fewer chances to beg and me to fall for it. So they are healthier too. You see, most of their intestinal issues have probably been caused by food off my plates...  Less trips to the Vet make Annie a Happy Gal and the babies are Happier too!

I am almost ready to start exercising, like walking the neighborhood, Williams Mill or even the tread mill. Maybe start working out on the total gym or just doing some gardening. Though, the thought of working in the yard conjures up visions of taking out a loan or selling a kidney.  Uggggh.

Now that my body is on its way to lightening up a little, it is time to lighten up the work life. And what I mean by that is turn it around. I have been at the same place for 6.5 years. And have pretty much not grown at all in the position.   I haven’t really learned any new skills that would make me valuable to the company. And since the FOL takeover, the skills I was hired for are really not something they are prepared to use. So I am just going nowhere… Slowly but Surely.
There is no money increases in the future, no where for me to go up to and really nothing to keep me busy. This company does not believe in telecommuting and does not believe the employee is a valuable resource. People here spend more time watching what you are doing instead of doing what they are supposed to do. So the only thing I can do is take action and get the heck out of Dodge. I initially was waiting around for a “package”, but I found out that it’s not worth it. 2 weeks vs. 14 weeks… big difference. I know what I’m looking for. So hopefully, I will make my next working experience a much better one.
