The internet in China is so slow and i can only see half of the stuff that's posted on _skating :/ I think i'm just going to go cold turkey so i don't miss any posts and forget to ever look them back up, so hopefully Stephane will wait to be adorable until after August 9. If he gets married or kisses Johnny though, SOMEONE HAD BETTER LET ME KNOW.

China is so nice <3 I've been going to spas and getting facials the past few days. I'm living in a fancy-ish apartment complex - there's a pool, a dance floor, a playground/gym thing, and lots of foliage and walking paths suspended over little streams. Cheng Du is exactly like those pictures of what will happen when humans die out and flora/fauna retake the world. There are trees and grass and flowers everywhere, with skyscrapers and other buildings (there's actually a square where the buildings look like the Bird's Nest) interspersed between. There are a lot of mosquitoes, BUT I'LL DEAL.

Yesterday, my brother and i went to this spa hotel. There was a gigantic swimming pool (with FREEEZING water) and a hot tub right next to it. The swimming pool was like a lagoon - there were small copses (right word?) of trees and stones and flowers every here and there in the water, as well as a wooden bridge that arched over part of the pool. The hot tub was gigantic - you could swim in it, and there were chairs built into the base of the pool so you could lounge and have spiritual orgasms over and over. After i frolicked there, i went into the spa area reserved for women. Everyone was naked - it was like an ~exotic~ fantasy documented only on papyrus or carved into really weathered stones. The lighting was greenish and slightly dim, red lanterns hung on the edges of the room, and there was a gigantic flowering tree in the center. No one minded being naked and no one was ashamed about their bodies - it was at this moment that i decided that i love China (or at least its spas).

I took a shower to wash the chlorine off; they provided body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and face wash. They all smelled really nice <3 Then i met my uncle's friend and her daughters, who were all soaking in a hot pool filled with medicinal water. I also tried out a pool where strong jets of water massaged your back and legs, as well as some pools filled with scented water (there was lemon, apple, lychee (plum?), and what i think could be aloe (they said "xiang zhang", which i heard as "xiang chang." [the word for sausage fml]) After soaking and properly pruning my fingers and toes, i took another shower and went to a section of the room where ladies were exfoliating people with little scrubbing mitts. The scrubbing hurt, but it was a satisfying hurt, and my lady chatted with me about America (or rather, she talked and i tried to answer). While she scrubbed, she gave me a full-body massage and it was fantastic T_T Afterwards, she asked me if i wanted any oil or milk or honey - i got the rose oil, which resulted in another massage while she rubbed rose-scented oil (maybe it was massage oil? It made her hands feel really warm when she massaged me) all over me. When i finished, i dressed in some pink smocks and shorts, provided by the spa, and decided to go bum around for a bit before dinner.

There were places for foot massages, private rooms for mahjong or sleeping, huge lounge areas where people would give you massages or serve you drinks, a movie theatre, random drink machines that served milk tea and coffee and juice, a fruit bar where they'd serve you strawberry ice cream if you asked, an internet room, playgrounds for chilluns, pool and ping pong tables, and a buffet. We ate at the buffet (obviously.gif), and then went to watch this Chinese movie about a construction worker who raises this kid whose mother went to America because she thought the kid was dead. In the end, the dad dies in a motorcycle race. Okai den

After that movie ended, i started watching "The Dark Knight" but then we had to leave. Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

This morning, i went to an herbal medicine hospital to treat my nasty-ass face. I got perscribed a bunch of herbal medicine (a gazillion packets, all filled with different herbs, to mix into water for a drink 3x a day) and facials every four days. The facials are nice - you lie down on a chair/bed thing, and a woman massages your face while she rubs various oils and liquids on it. Then, she puts a cloth mask over your face and paints clay over it. ~Then~, she holds a machine that mists hot steam over the mask for a bit and you finally stew for 30 minutes before she takes the mask off and washes your face with some cloths. By this time, i was pretty cheerful, but then she suddenly said "This will hurt a little", and started extracting stuff from my face with a pair of tweezers. And then i cried. And bled.

But now i'm home! And about to eat lunch and take my medicine. I doubt anyone has read up to here, since all this is is a verry srs documentation of my memories, but whatever. Someone had better have read what i said about Stephane.
