The time has come, the Walrus said...

The first few weeks in Arkham were interesting. Constant visits from doctors. Not for him, oh no. Alice's doctors. They wouldn't let him see her. He screamed and yelled and refused to help. Why should he help? Still, they came again and again, asking for notes. Asking for where he left them. Needing help to undo what he'd done.

Travis had died when they tried to remove the box. Tried to help his infection. Then, of course, they found that the young man was brain damaged beyond repair and blind in one eye. Some say he was lucky to die. That makes Jervis laugh. Cops threaten him. They tell him he'll get the chair if Alice dies too. He tells them to just leave her be and nothing bad will happen. One of the cops gave him a black eye. He hopes the man was at least suspended.

He's asked for a lawyer several times, but has yet to see one. They make him take sedatives and he doesn't know what day it is anymore. They ask him again how to free Alice. He tells them. He draws a diagram. Then suggests they leave her be. With him away, after all, she'll be safe.

The girl nearly died in surgery. Nothing can be done about the lobotomy but therapy, and the incorrect diagram of the control device nearly led to paralyzing her.

They say he'll never get out of Arkham. They say he'll never leave his room. Jervis sings to himself and tells himself stories and he's made quite an array of paper hats.
