People are damn nosy. Just because you're a friend, associate, or temporary roomate does not mean that you get to pry into someone's private life. I do believe that if people want you to know about the conversation they just had with an indisclosed person, the arguement they were just furiously typing, the hot sex they had (or didn't have) last night when there was someone in their bed, what they're god damn reading/writing/thinking....they will let you know. It sort of sickens me how some people crave others' personal details. When I make a decision about something, I don't need 5 people breathing down my neck for an explanation as to why. I'm a big girl now, and even if my decisions seem utterly retarded to you, last time I checked I am still an autonomous, free-willed individual who doesn't need approval from you, thanks.
