Rest in peace, my Papa dear
I'll be MIA for awhile, because my grandfather passed away yesterday morning, after an incredible 95 years of life. I’m sad, but take relief that he isn’t suffering anymore. I’ve been lucky, and there haven’t been many deaths in my family. Yesterday,I lost my last grandparent. My mom has no living parents now. When this happens, it makes me realize how much death is a part of life instead of just the end of it.
As my mom put it, he's probably up in the heaven he believed in, right now...building a shed. :) He liked to build things, and it was hard to watch him try to do the things he used to do, like hold a hammer. Knowing him, he's probably built three by now.
And because we all liked Lady Gaga (yep, even 95 year old Papa. direct quote: "That lady can sure play that piano!!"), here is an acoustic "Edge of Glory," which Gaga also wrote for her grandfather.
