Wondering How Sensitive the South Africans are.....
CRAP! I feel so incredibly STUPID!
I went to pick up my check today from The English Tutor, one of the institutes I work for. I was giving Dagney (my boss) the cheques I've collected from my students and I was having 'problems' organizing them....so stupidly enough I said...'Sorry, I'm having a blonde moment' and as those words slipped out of my mouth my brain alerted me of the major faux pas I just made. I shyly look up at Dagney, my BLONDE South African boss, and didn't know what to say as my foot was stuffed firmly in my mouth. I believe she said, 'are you being rude?' in a somewhat jokingly manner and flustered as I was I tried to back peddle but It was impossible. The damage was done.
I NEVER use this expression and I don't know what made me say it now. But as punishment and because I rotate I am constantly re-living this nightmare. AGH!
I just hope she has a good sense of humor. So now I am left to wonder how sensitive the South Africans are.....
