“I have two little boys.”
“How long you been teachin’?”
The woman smiled. “This is my tenth year.”
Dean nodded. “You don’t spank kids, do ya’? I mean if they, like, talk too much or somethin’?”
“No, sir. I don’t,” she said, biting her lip to fight the laugh that wanted to come out.
“Okay, then,” Dean said, then issued his final test. “Christo,” he muttered.
“Pardon?”
Dean grinned and bent down to kiss the top of Sammy’s head. “It’ll be okay, Sammy, and I’ll be back for you at 3 o’clock. You’re gonna like kindergarten.”
