She responded with a quick sort message and arrived soon after at his room. Protocol being what it was she did knock first, he might have needed a minute or something. Where that concern came from she didn't know, but it couldn't be denied that she'd softened towards him in the past week. She still picked on him of course, but there was more affection and venom these days.

When he allowed her entry and stepped inside and closed the door behind her. His room, like her's was sparse and spartan. But it was at least a place to rest and still quite a bit more comfortable than many of the places she'd had to fit into in the course of her career. Air vents were murder on the knees when you had to wait eight hours for the story you needed.

"Something on your mind, Smallville?" Oh yes, that nickname was never going away.

Clark's room was listed under Superman, so he always made a point to be wearing the suit when in that room. He was just sitting on the bed when Lois came in, looking up at her. The nickname made him smile... he had been afraid Lois knowing about his secret identity would somehow damage their friendship, but it only brought them closer.

"Quite a bit. But mainly I wanted to spend some quality time with you before everything... ends, one way or another? If it's alright with you?"

He patted the bed, by his side.

So there he was, Superman..Clark Kent..the official man in her life. Two men in her life? She snickered never having thought of a menage a trois before.

"Sounds good to me." She joined him, turning to sit so she was facing him, her hand took his and cradled it in her lap. "I know this is, well it's possibly the end of the world. And I have no desire to die, but..no matter what happens there's no one I'd rather be here with."

Clark looked down at their hands and smiled. Not a full smile, just a little sad one. He would have fought until the end before, of course... but now Lois was here, now they were together and as selfish as that made him feel he just a lot more to fight for.

"Neither would I. I... missed you while you weren't here, Lois. Missed you so much."

He lifted their hands and gently pressed his lips against Lois', sighting softly.

"But I want you to promise me you will be brave, and keep on living. No matter the outcome. I know you're a strong woman, and I know I don't even really need to tell you this. I guess I'm kind of convincing myself."
