Dammit, he... was still alive. Asch knew he shouldn't be after something as stupid as getting stabbed by that replica Oracle Knight. Yet here he was in some plain and unfamiliar white room. Alive.
He was torn about how to feel. After all, he'd already done his part; only the replica could finish off what was left. But Asch had fully expected to die and, at least, fulfill some kind of purpose in doing so. Which he did--he fulfilled his role in assisting his replica's escape and giving him the Key to free Lorelei as well as the motivation to finish off Van. That was his purpose, and now he was supposed to be dead. Not that he wanted to die, but...
There wasn't any point thinking in circles about it. That was useless and a waste of his time. Anyway, this looked like one of those research facilities in Belkend, so maybe he was there. Maybe someone picked him up afterward and--no, how the hell could anyone have picked him up after that? If the replica defeated Van, then Eldrant wouldn't even exist anymore. And the way that it happened with the cheagles back in Ortion Cavern...
Now he was just plain irritated. Nothing made any sense.
He wasn't sure he wanted to be here--he wasn't even sure where here was. But he shouldn't even be alive and couldn't help feeling angry for who- or whatever added insult to injury. Still, there wasn't any use sitting around thinking about it, not when he might as well find out and get some questions answered.
