When: Late Wednesday evening
Where: The biodome spring

Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Angst and dark themes. A lot of them.

The water stared up at Kadaj almost mockingly. It was crystal clear, no matter how much energy he poured into himself, no matter how he struggled to pour Mother's cells into the liquid around him. He had hoped to see some shadow of his strength- and echo of his purpose in mother's plan. Tifa and Mello had told him to stay put, but he couldn't. If he stayed in the dark, then he'd lose himself to the quiet whispers in his head. And they were so tempting.

Kadaj had decided. He would be himself. If he didn't, then Roxas would lose everything too. He'd made a promise- maybe his first promise- to stay true to himself. To fight for his consciousness to the last. The Remnant let out a cry of frustration before throwing a bit of a mini-tantrum. He slammed his fists into the water as though it were the one offending him. Still utterly drenched, Kadaj trudged out of the water and collapsed against a tree, his face buried in his knees.
