Edward was looking down at the streets below. He had just talked with Hinata before coming up here to see Ed and he felt considerably calmer than he had before. Her gentle voice rang in his head over and over again with the words, "hope, friendship and kindness" flittering through his cluttered thoughts.
He had a hard time understanding the differences between what a friendship is and what a romantic relationship is. There was a difference between the two and his heart ached. He couldn't differentiate which bothered him considerably and could possibly destroy his friendship with Rufus and Misora.
He asked for Hinata to meet with him since she was the only one that he could trust that wasn't too close to the situation. He learned that sometimes seeking someone that didn't know about the sticky details offered the best advice. He had The Nameless One (Hannibal Lector) to thank for that little tidbit of knowledge of seeking an outside source.
He looked out the window and waited patiently. Guarding the lifeless body of Radical Ed was a quiet task that required his delicate attention and his vigilant eyes. He didn't need to sleep or eat which made him the perfect sentinel over her open tomb for the next few days until she wakes up again.
His mind drifted to the reasons why Cloud had abandoned her. Sephriroth was now on the list of people that Edward doesn't like. The list has only two people on it; Freddy Kruegar and Sephiroth. Freddy is at least under control. Hatred was starting to well up within him and he had a hard time stopping it when he went on his rampage and slashed Misora's tires. He didn't intend to do such a thing but his thought processes were greatly impeded and had no way to stop them until he wore himself out.
Hinata was the only one that he could turn to at this point without feeling the need to create more trouble than he already had. She was his friend first and foremost. He understood that completely. Her guidance and her way of getting through to him was his best hope if he wanted to stay with his friends.
