It was like a divine sign. The first Central Park establishment that they came across, Tavern on the Green, was miraculously untouched by the raging battle that had gone on earlier. (Not completely untouched. There were bits of metal shrapnel lodged in the walls and roof here and there, but the structural integrity was unquestionably in tact.) What's more, further investigation revealed that its stores were still stocked with non perishables and, more importantly, no small amount of alcohol.
This sparked an idea amongst the pilots gathered. No one quite knew who started it, but all parties in favour of the idea eventually persuaded the more reserved and socially inept among them that a celebration of their victory was in order.
And so it was that the dust table cloths on several tables were flipped to rid them of the dust. Clean silverware was dug up, the pantries and booze cellars were raided in order to create a fairly decent spread, and the flickery, unreliable chandeliers overhead were turned on. It almost gave the impression of a rather cozy mini-rave. Lockon popped the top off of his beer, leaned back on the nearest doorframe, and grinned as a signal was sent out to the nearby faciliberries.
Attention all facility occupants! The coast is clear. It's been a stressful week, so anyone who is looking to have a good time (and isn't evil) feel free to come to meet us at the Tavern on the Green!
Sincerely,
Your friendly neighborhood Gundam pilots and Meisters
