She should have known better than to suggest such (this word should be written in bold if one ever had to write this up, thinks Chloe secretly) an outrageous thing, as she had. Really, women never understood anything about hero costumes and such!
She rolled her eyes affectionately as she watched his blond, spiky hair bob up and down in front of her, agreeing with Bart that every hero has to have a fitting costume! The more form fitting it was, the better! She watched his eyebrows come together in concentration (as he added his bits and pieces to the sketch of the new design); as his mouth thinned out, he did this adorable thing with his chin, in which the dent there would become more prominent.
He must have noticed her watching him, because in the next moment he turned towards her and scolded. “Don’t look yet mommy! My costume is supposed to be a surprise!”
Bart, his godfather and favourite-superhero-uncle, looked up from the sketchbook and smirked into her direction. “Ah... the Chloelicious just can’t get enough of this jelly...!” while pointing at his abs laughing suggestively. (Thank god her little boy didn’t see that just now... else some certain speedy superhero would have been in trouble for corrupting her little hero too soon!)
It was just at that moment that Oliver decided to walk into the now dubbed ‘Operation: awesome-est Halloween Costume EVER!’. He kissed Chloe on the cheek and then made a beeline to his son and friend.
She had to chuckle as she watched Oliver being accepted into the operation of designing the best, greatest costume a six year old had ever worn. Figures that he’d be accepted as soon as he came into the room, after all she had to admit that he really did have the best costume of all her superheroes.
