Figures that it would be a brunette. It was always a brunette. Only once had she have to ‘compete’ with a fellow blond. And this once was yet again a situation were she was in the disadvantage of being ‘only human’ and the other woman being an alien.
Rachel Dawns. That was the name of the woman who held his heart. It didn’t matter that she had been dead for now almost two years. That woman would always hold his heart. Her name was probably tattooed into the walls of his cardiac tissue.
She was never one to give up easily, but even Chloe knew that you couldn’t compete with the ghost of a perfect dead woman. What ever she did would be of no use, because Rachel would always over shadow her, and she would always be better, and nicer and purer.
Life just wasn’t fair sometimes.
