Everything hurt. It all just hurt. He couldn’t believe that this was happening to him. Not now. Not after he had finally found someone who he loved… She was perfect, they were perfect. He had opened up to her…
Trump, crrrr, crash…
He was throwing things around, wrecking his interior. He was trying to break and destroy anything in his path. Who cares about the furniture? Fuck his place. To hell with it all.
Silence…
He crumbled down the wall. He couldn’t stand anymore, can’t hold himself up. He buried his face in his hands. He just wanted to hide from it all. It just hurt so badly. He was alone all over again.
Click, clack, click, clack, tank…
“Oliver?” called a delicate voice out to him.
He didn’t move from the spot he had broken down on. He didn’t move at all. The tears were running freely now. He didn’t sob openly. He didn’t make a sound. But his pain was there none the less, cut, hurt, open.
Her hand touched his shoulder slowly; feeling her way through his pain. And then she was embracing him. Hugging him and sharing her warmth with him.
He buried his face in her hair, and imagined someone else instead of her. God, how he missed her already.
“Chloe, she left me…” Pathetic he thinks. Maybe that was why she left him. Because he was pathetic, and not as strong as he always tried to look.
“Shhhh… it will be alright…” she lies, while placing a soft kiss on his forehead. She strokes his head, and her heart goes out to him. She knows this will be another scar on his already bruised heart.
One day you’ll meet someone who won’t run from you. Who’ll stay and fight with you. But she doesn’t utter those words. Because she is afraid that those are lies as well. Instead she continues to stroke his hair and embrace him. She hopes that tomorrow will bring a new day, a new beginning for him. He deserves it so much.
