"Bellatrix raised her wand. 'Crucio!' Neville screamed... [...] She turned and gazed up at Harry. 'Now, Potter, either give us the prophecy, or watch your little friend die the hard way!'
Harry did not have to think; there was no choice. The prophecy was hot with the heat from his clutching hand as he held it out."
I love that line - Harry did not have to think; there was no choice. It just gives me a shiver.
Also, as a ginormous Neville fan, "He's dot alone! He's still god be!" ranks among my top 10 favorite HP lines. :points to icon:
"it's time you learned the difference between life and dreams." -- Seems to sum up the entire theme of the book. Up until now, the WW was the perfect escape fairy tale, exactly the type of fantasy that Harry might occupy himself with to pretend he doesn't really live with the Dursleys. But OotP isn't fun, he doesn't get to be the hero, and no one lives happily ever after

Are Sirius, Lupin, Moody, Kingsley, and Tonks the only ones who were available, or are they the only ones capable of dueling?
I read ahead a little, and they were all at HQ when Snape called to say he suspected Harry went to the DoM since he didn't return from the forest, and they all volunteered to go.
Which is really just a convenient way for JKR to only include Order member that we know, without saying anything about their capabilities or making it seem like the Order just sits around waiting to rescue Harry (which they probably ought to do, because it'd be more useful than whatever they're actually doing). ::sigh:: And I really wanted to know the point of characters lik Daedalus Diggle too.
As a huge Hermione nut, I have to say that when Hermione was hit by that stray spell, letting out a little "oh", I was worrying like crazy that Hermione was the one to die, we just didn't know it yet.
I was afraid she'd been killed. I could feel Harry's panic as if it were my own...I came close to crying. I was so relieved when Neville "foud a bulse":D
* Gaaah! Bella can be as a pain in the nickta as a 4 years old. I hate baby talk in the adults.
* Malfoy, next time, less talk, and come with a plan:
“Hey, every one, you Stun a kid each, I Accio the prophecy, and we’ll be all at home in five minute.”
See? Not so difficult.
* The rest of the WW shudder when they hear ‘Voldemort’. The DEs hiss. Safe if my memory is faulty and that a no DE hissed when hearing the name.
It could be a point toward the painful Mark under some stimuli (and my theory).
* Again, Harry has some answers from his enemies.
* A baby’s head now sat grotesquely on the top of the thick, muscled neck of the Death Eater…
Wasn’t a scene in Super Mario, the film?
* Hermione smashed into a bookcase and was promptly deluged in a cascade of heavy books.
The books lover hurt by them, interesting image.
* Luna is bizarrely …normal, when it’s really serious.
* I will not make a joke about tentacles rape, I will not make a joke about tentacles rape, I will not…* The DEs halted when Harry was near the Veil, do they

More Neville, JKR? Pretty please? And some more Luna as long as we're asking?

And no, I was just so relieved that Sirius died - when Ron was coughing up blood!

And, Oh.
When I first read the chapter, I was all "don't let her be dead, don't let her be dead', until That Quote, when I was all "oh, let her be dead!"
So, the whole Sirius thing never upset me.
It is all about teh Ron.

Sirius's death is terrible and sad for Harry, but the really upsetting thing about the whole thing is Sirius's cruelly unfulfilled life.

Yeah, she does well in the mystery department.
When I read about the steps which look like benches, I first thought it was the piece for the condemned to death.
I thought so too. So maybe they executed right after the trial.
